About Montclair Danby

Montclair Danby is a prestigious white marble quarried from the Green Mountains of Vermont, USA. Known for its soft white background, it features medium to heavy greenish to gray veining that typically runs in diagonal or horizontal patterns. As one of the oldest quarried marbles in the United States, it is celebrated for its remarkable density and low absorption rate of approximately 0.06%, making it significantly more durable and stain-resistant than many European counterparts. This classic stone has been used in iconic structures such as the Lincoln Memorial and the White House. Interestingly, the Danby quarry is the largest underground marble quarry in the world, extending over a mile into the mountain.
