About Cipollino Ondulato

Cipollino Ondulato is a visually arresting Italian marble quarried from the Apuan Alps in Tuscany. True to its name—Cipollino meaning little onion—it features dramatic, undulating waves reminiscent of an onion's layers. This stone is celebrated for its sophisticated palette of deep forest greens, charcoal greys, and creamy whites, often accented by chocolate browns or burgundies. Its high-contrast movement makes it a favorite for book-matched installations, transforming surfaces into natural works of art. Interestingly, while primarily associated with green tones, its rich mineral composition can produce "Rosso" variations featuring vivid purple and red striations.
