Often referred to as Calacatta Do Brasil, it offers the sought-after aesthetic of high-end Italian marble but with the superior durability and acid resistance of a true quartzite. This makes it an ideal choice for high-use surfaces like kitchen countertops and bathroom vanities. Reaching a 7 on the Mohs hardness scale, it is remarkably resistant to scratching and etching. Interestingly, while its name is inspired by the snow-capped peak in the Alps, this stone is a tropical treasure primarily quarried in the Bahia region.
