About Roman Linear Travertine
Roman Linear Travertine, also known as Travertino Romano, is a legendary natural stone quarried from the historic Tivoli basin near Rome, Italy. This sedimentary limestone is defined by its warm beige palette and a sophisticated linear grain achieved through vein-cutting. Celebrated for its remarkable compactness and durability, it has served as the primary medium for architectural icons like the Colosseum and the Trevi Fountain for over two millennia. Its characteristic porous structure, formed by mineral precipitation in thermal waters, provides natural slip resistance and thermal insulation. Interestingly, this stone is still geologically active and growing within the Aniene river today.
