Over the past few years, quartzite has become extremely popular for kitchen countertops. Quartzite is a natural stone that tends to come in many colors. Along with neutral shades white grey and beiges. It can have a marble-like aesthetic, while delivering additional durability than most granite. The design and low-maintenance characteristics of quartzite qualities combine to make it an ideal choice for high-traffic areas.

Despite the similarity in names Quartzite and Quartz are quite different materials. Quartz slabs are a man-made product that combines the mineral quartz with resins, polymers, and pigments to make a very durable surfacing product. Quartzite is a natural metamorphic rock that forms from quartz-rich sandstone. When naturally altered by heat and pressure, the sand grains recrystallize and form a dense network of interlocking quartz crystals. The result is incredibly strong. Quartzite is then quarried and cut into slabs to be used for applications like kitchen countertops, vanity tops, fireplace facades or shower walls.

Quartzite really does live up to the hype as one of the most hassle-free countertop surfaces available. This beautiful sophisticated natural stone with its delicate veining and understated color palette fits any style from minimalist to modern to traditional.
