Quartzite

Blue Tempest closeup Close Up

Blue Tempest is a rare and visually arresting quartzite known for its dramatic, storm-like aesthetic. Primarily sourced from Brazil, though some varieties are associated with Italian refinement, this stone features a deep indigo to charcoal-blue background. It is famously characterized by its “”tempestuous”” veining—a dynamic swirl of white, smoky gray, and occasional hints of olive green or gold that mimic lightning across a dark sky. As a true quartzite, it offers a Mohs hardness of 7, providing the sophisticated look of marble with the superior durability of granite. Interestingly, its crystalline structure often includes translucent inclusions that create a unique sense of depth when polished.
