About Amazon
Amazon Green Quartzite, sometimes called Amazonite, is a natural stone pulled from quarries in the Paraiba region of Brazil. It stands out for its deep emerald and teal tones, cut through with smoky gray, white, and the occasional streak of copper. It's a metamorphic rock, formed from sandstone over time, and it's harder than granite — a 7 on the Mohs scale. That makes it tough against heat and scratches. The turquoise color comes from lead and water impurities trapped in potassium feldspar. That same mineral quirk is what gives the semi-precious gemstone its name.
