About Calacatta Viola

Calacatta Viola is an exquisite Italian marble from the legendary quarries of Carrara. Distinguished by its dramatic, high-contrast appearance, it features a creamy white background swept with bold, fluid veins ranging from deep burgundy and violet to rich cabernet. This "expressionist" stone is favored for statement applications like waterfall islands, luxury vanities, and focal-point fireplaces.

Historically known as Breccia Medicea, this marble was a favorite of the powerful Medici family in Florence, where its regal purple hues symbolized nobility. Its unique coloration is the result of rare geological processes involving manganese and iron, making it a sophisticated alternative to traditional gold-veined Calacatta.
