Colorado is a striking quartzite primarily quarried in the Bahia region of Brazil, where it formed over 1.7 billion years ago from ancient sedimentary deposits. This rare stone is defined by a deep blue to blue-green background, dramatically energized by swirling veins of gold, yellow, white, and orange. Known for its acid resistance and extreme hardness—ranking approximately 7 to 8 on the Mohs scale—it offers a durable, low-maintenance alternative to marble. Often referred to as Elegant Brown or Sand Dunes in certain markets, its intense, painterly movement makes it a premier choice for high-end interior focal points.
