About Mineral Black Soapstone
Mineral Black Soapstone, also known as Barroca Soapstone, is a premier architectural-grade natural stone quarried from the historic Mariana region of Brazil. Characterized by its deep charcoal to midnight black canvas, it often features subtle, understated white veining that provides a sophisticated, classic aesthetic. Composed of approximately 50% talc, this metamorphic rock possesses a signature velvety, "soapy" texture. It is naturally non-porous, making it exceptionally resistant to stains, acids, and heat without the need for chemical sealants. While it begins as a soft gray, the application of mineral oil or wax accelerates its natural aging process, revealing a rich, permanent black patina.
