About Sodalite
Sodalite, often traded as Sodalite Blue Granite, is a rare and spectacular tectosilicate mineral prized for its rich royal blue to violet-blue coloration. Primarily sourced from Brazil, Namibia, and Bolivia, this stone is distinguished by its vivid white calcite veining and occasional black or gray inclusions. While often categorized commercially as a granite due to its durability and igneous origin, it is geologically a feldspathoid formed in silica-poor magmas. Interestingly, Sodalite is known as the Poet's Stone for its association with creativity. Unlike lapis lazuli, it lacks pyrite inclusions and typically exhibits a vibrant orange fluorescence under ultraviolet light.
