Frequently asked questions
PentalQuartz® is a focused set of premium surfaces developed for designers, fabricators, builders, and homeowners to move from inspriation to selection with clarity. We weight color, movement, depth, and usability together to present a collection that drives distinct designs.
Depending on the color, PentalQuartz is made from approximately 90–93% natural quartz crystals, along with resins and polymer binders.
This combination is then poured into a mold, compressed and then heated to produce a solid surface material that is extremely robust, non-porous, and scratch-resistant.
PentalQuartz requires very little maintenance. For daily cleaning, simply wipe your surface with any commonly available multi-purpose cleaner or mild detergent, then rinse off with clean water. The surface should be cleaned on a regular basis to maintain its beauty. You can find more detailed care and maintenance instructions in our online guide
It is not recommended to put hot pots or dishes directly on a quartz surface. Quartz surfacing is resistant to high levels of heat, however trivets or potholders should be used so as to avoid discoloration of the resin materials that bind the quartz product.
Quartz countertops are non-porous making them highly stain resistant. However, it’s important to note that quartz is not completely impervious. If left on the surface for an extended period, certain substances (including strong acids, food dyes or harsh chemicals) can potentially cause staining.
Polished offers a higher sheen; honed and brushed finishes have a softer, lower-sheen look and may show more signs of daily use because they create more surface area. Care guidance is available in the PentalQuartz Care & Maintenance Guide
