STONE TRENDS:
Marble: Classic + Bold
One of the most popular trends of 2021 was the love for Natural Stone. It’s official: stone slabs are here to stay as a natural and timeless material that has been used for centuries. In particular, marble is elegant and timeless, exuding luxury and sophistication making it a great option to use in bathrooms, kitchens, and other areas of the home where design longevity is required. A duo that never goes out of style, Calacatta & Carrara marble. These have all the characteristics of what many people consider classic marble – milky white backgrounds, thick grey veining, and the luxe appeal.
Bold, heavily veined marbles are making their way into the design world as well. Kilimanjaro marble is a very visually striking stone with rich veins that seem to almost illustrate a river moving through. Complimenting both dark and light neutrals, this stone will outlast any trend. This marble works great in both residential and commercial projects where distinctive design and wow factor are desired. You can never have too much marble!
While marble is a terrific natural stone, there are plenty of marble alternatives you can find. One popular option is engineered stone. Quartz is typically suitable for countertops, walls, and floors. It’s available in large formats, is durable and stain resistant and therefore easy to maintain. Architectural Surfaces offers two Quartz lines- MetroQuartz® and PentalQuartz®.
TILE TRENDS:
Color
There’s a reason you’re seeing more colorful tile out there. It’s livable, joyful, and not as hard as you think to pull off in your space. We predict greens and dark blues will continue to trend into 2022. Both colors pair well with neutrals and ground more vibrant colors. Green and Blue shades evoke a sense of calm, making this a natural choice for people to be drawn to for their spaces.

Large Format Tiles + Terrazzo
Large format tiles are a must for 2022 – especially in terrazzo pattern. This comes as no surprise, given that it continues to be a popular choice for homeowners since its launch in 1945. Add edge to your design with our Parade or Stelvio collections.
Texture
This isn’t a new trend, but with ever more sophisticated printing technology, it’s getting easier to mass produce impressive surfaces with textured and three-dimensional finishes. This makes it easier to create an interesting space at home or in an office that are still durable and low maintenance.
Textured options: Bits and Castlestone and More (Muretto), Nux and Glitch
