About Calacatta Bettogli
Calacatta Bettogli is a prestigious Italian marble quarried from the heights of Mount Bettogli in the Apuan Alps. This luxury stone is defined by its creamy white to ivory background, accented by a striking interplay of bold gray and delicate gold veining. Occasionally, tiny spots of pyrite add a subtle, natural sparkle to the surface. As a high-end variety of Carrara marble, its production is limited, with less than 10% of the quarry's output meeting the "Extra" grade standards. Historically, the spelling of the quarry itself evolved from the dialectal "Betogli" to the modern "Bettogli" over centuries of linguistic development.
