Marble

Nero Marquina closeup Close Up

Nero Marquina has a deep black background with irregular white veins running across the surface. The veins vary in thickness and pattern, from fine and subtle to bold and dramatic, offering a strong contrast. The stone has a compact fine grain texture that feels smooth to the touch. Quarried in the Basque Country of northern Spain, it is named after the town of Markina. Nero Marquina is a biomicrite marble composed mainly of calcite with some dolomite and graphite. The graphite content contributes to its deep black color. This marble is used in flooring, wall cladding, countertops, and decorative accents for both interior and exterior projects. Its classic look and fine grain make it a versatile choice for many architectural styles. The contrasting veins add distinctive visual character without overpowering the overall design.
