Virginia Mist closeup Close Up

Virginia Mist, also known as Jet Mist, is a premier black granite quarried from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Characterized by its deep charcoal to black background, this stone features delicate, wispy white or light gray veining that creates a soft, cloud-like “”mist”” across the surface. Its exceptional density and low water absorption make it highly resistant to staining and weather, making it a popular choice for both luxurious interior countertops and demanding exterior applications. Notably, Virginia Mist was selected for the Ground Zero Memorial in New York City, a testament to its enduring strength and solemn beauty. Although often classified as granite in the trade, it is geologically a gabbro, which contributes to its intense dark coloring and superior durability.
