Quartzite

Avocatus closeup Close Up

Avocatus is a striking natural quartzite primarily quarried in Brazil, renowned for its intense and varied green palette. Its deep olive to lush mint tones are often dramatized by a high-contrast network of black veins and white quartz inclusions, evoking the dense, layered canopy of a tropical rainforest. As a true quartzite with a Mohs hardness of 7, it offers exceptional resistance to heat, scratches, and acidic etching, making it a premier choice for luxury kitchen islands and feature walls. Interestingly, the stone’s unique avocado-green hue is derived from trace amounts of iron oxides and chromium-rich minerals like fuchsite trapped within its crystalline structure.
